I thought I saw Dave Rector online yesterday. I'm fine. All we've seen in my neck of the plains is rain, which is always appreciated. I appreciate the concern and I'm sure the other Okies will too. |

Thanks for checking on us Ron! All is well here. There are over 600,000 people without power here and everything has a quarter inch thick coat of ice on it. We were fortunate, our power went out from 9pm Monday to 9:am Tuesday and that was all the problem we had. Others have thing much worse. Roads are clear and life goes on like normal today. |

Thanks Ron, All is well here. We were very lucky 30 miles west (Hutchison)and 60 miles north (Salina) were hit hard with several thousand with out electricity. My Daughter lives in Pittsburg and they lost power to most of the town. & nbsp; Now my Dad on the other hand felt he had to go to the doughnut shop even with the ice, he fell and broke his hip. |

Good to hear you guys are ok. Sorry about your father, Dave. We haven't had a bad ice storm here since 2000. Lost power for three days that time. The next summer the power company cut every limb off every tree in Arkansas that hung over power lines. Ron |

Dave - Really sorry to hear about your dad. How is he faring? It is a hard injury for anyone to recover from. I will be driving to Chanute in less than 2 weeks. I'm sure the ice will be gone before then,. My wife's two sisters live in Tulsa and were without power only for a day. This ice reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel's song 'Slip Slidin' Away!' Best wishes and safety! |
